Admission and Scholarships
Admission to the Theatre Arts program is by audition and interview or portfolio review and interview. Applicants should follow the requirement guidelines stated below. If interested in applying for a theatre scholarship applicants should inform the faculty at the time of the audition or review.
Scholarships:
Scholarships are available for Theatre Arts majors and are determined by the admission audition and interview or the admission portfolio review and interview. Requirements are listed below. New students and transfer students may apply. Through a combination of sources it is possible to be granted up to 60% of tuition, renewable annually, (approximately $13,000 per year) in scholarship assistance. Work study programs are available as well.
Admission Requirements:
Acting or Theatre Education Concentration - Applicants must perform two contrasting monologues lasting no longer than two minutes each. Selections must be memorized.
Musical Theatre Concentration - Applicants must sing 16 to 32 bars of a song that best shows the range and quality of voice and must perform two contrasting monologues lasting no longer than two minutes each. Selections must be memorized. You may bring a recorded accompaniment or sing a cappella.
Design and Technology Concentration - Applicants should bring a portfolio of materials such as photos, sketches, production books, etc. that represent their work in theatre productions.
